With the introduction of revisions to Building Regulations on October 1st 2010, the system supplier members of the British Plastics Federation Windows Group have simulated PVC-U windows and doors based on worst case specifications, using BFRC Certified Simulators, and produced Declarations of Conformity with Building Regulations that installers of products from those System Suppliers can use to satisfy inspectors and which can be left with householders.
Three documents have been produced...
- Windows with a U value of 1.6 W/m2.K
- Doors with a U value of 1.8 W/m2.K
- Doors with a U value of 1.6 W/m2.K (For Scotland)
The complete set of three documents are delivered in PDF format with the individual installers company name on them. These Declarations can then be printed and given to customers on delivery and installation of products.
In addition, to ensure full transparency, the names of companies purchasing these Declarations will be displayed on the BPF Windows Group website.
The Declaration covers the following window styles:
- Casement
- Tilt/turn
- Reversible
The Declaration covers the following door styles:
- Residential
- Tilt/slide
- French
- In-line sliding
- Two pane sliding/folding
The Declaration shows that those products supplied by the members of the British Plastics Federation’s Windows Group (Deceuninck, Duraflex, Euro Cell, Plastmo, Profile 22, Rehau, Sheerframe, Spectus, Swish, Veka and WHS Halo) are in conformity with Part L1B of the Building Regulations 2010 England and Wales (Conservation of Fuel and Power) and the Scottish Technical Handbook 2010, Section 6, Energy.
Please note the certificates are only valid with the company name on them and remain so until 30th September 2011.
